These terms are the agreement between you and Robinson Grullon (“we”), the operator of Canora at canoraonline.com. By creating an account you accept them.
The service
Canora keeps records of canaries: birds, bands, pedigrees, pairs, clutches, and photos, recordings and videos, for individual breeders and for clubs.
Your account
- Give a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- One account per person. A club is run from its members’ accounts.
Your records
- What you put in Canora stays yours. You allow us to store it and to show it to the people you choose to share it with, only to run the service.
- Only upload photos, recordings and videos you have the right to share.
- Records you share with a club, or make public, can be seen by others as described in the privacy policy.
Fair use
Do not use Canora to break the law, to harm others, to send spam, or to get into accounts or data that are not yours, and do not try to disrupt the service. We may suspend an account that does.
Marketplace
- The marketplace lets breeders offer birds and things for birds to each other. Anyone can look; you need an account to post a listing or contact a seller.
- We are not a party to any sale. Buyer and seller agree on the price, payment, delivery and the bird’s health between themselves, and are each responsible for keeping their side. We do not check birds, items or sellers, and we do not handle payments.
- Only offer what you have and may legally sell where you live. Not allowed: wild-caught or protected birds, birds without the papers the law requires, official club bands, and anything illegal, dangerous or misleading. Selling animals may need permits or health papers in your country; getting them is up to you.
- Describe what you offer honestly, with your own photos. A listing shows its town, never your address. The contact details you choose to show are seen by logged-in breeders.
- Messages sent through Canora reach the seller by email with the sender’s email address, so they can answer directly. Use them only about the listing; do not send spam.
- Anyone can report a listing. We may hide or remove listings that break these rules, and stop an account from using the marketplace, without notice in serious cases. We tell you by email when we remove a listing of yours.
- If you tick “Canora may feature this listing”, you allow us to post its photos, videos, title, town and, for a bird, its pedigree, song recordings and videos on Canora’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, with a link to the listing, never your phone or email. For YouTube, we upload one of those videos as it is, or make a short video of the photo and song, with YouTube API Services. You can untick it at any time; posts already published may stay, and you can ask us to take a post or video down.
- Seller reviews: after writing to a seller through Canora you may review them, once, with 1 to 5 stars and a comment. Reviews must be honest and about your own dealing with that seller; no insults, threats or other people’s personal details, and no reviews of yourself or in exchange for anything. The seller may answer publicly. We may hide reviews that break these rules, and reviews several breeders report are hidden until we look at them. Reviews are the opinion of their writer, not Canora’s.
- Listings stay up for 30 days and can be renewed. Every account can have 10 listings up at a time; Supporter and club plans more.
YouTube
Canora uses YouTube API Services: to play YouTube videos linked to birds and listings, and to upload videos of featured listings to Canora’s YouTube channel. By using these features you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Plans and payment
- Canora is free for every breeder, with storage for files up to the limits shown on the Plan page. Optional paid plans (Supporter, and club plans that cover a number of members) add room for files and listings. If we ever change what the free plan includes, we tell you before it applies, and nothing you have recorded is deleted.
- Paid plans are billed once a year through Stripe and renew each year until cancelled. Clubs are free up to 10 members; a club plan sets how many members a bigger club may have, and gives each of them more room. A club whose plan ends keeps its members, but takes no new ones above the free number.
- We send a reminder by email before each yearly renewal.
- Promoting a listing is a single payment, not a subscription: for the number of days shown when you pay, the listing comes first in the marketplace and on the home page with a “Featured” badge, and first in line to be shown on Canora’s Facebook page and YouTube channel if you allowed that. It starts as soon as it is paid; by paying you ask us to start it at once. If we take the listing down because it breaks these terms, the promotion ends without a refund; if it ends early because of a fault of ours, write to us and we refund it.
- If you change your mind, ask for a refund within 14 days of a payment, the first one or a renewal, and you get it in full. Write to support@canoraonline.com.
- You can cancel at any time; the plan then stays active until the end of the year already paid. After the 14 days, payments are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
- If prices change, the new price applies from your next renewal, and we tell you before it does.
Availability and backups
We work to keep Canora running and back up the records regularly, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable or lose data. Exporting your records from time to time is a good idea.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Canora and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end the service with at least 60 days’ notice, so you have time to export your records.
Liability
Canora is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, we tell you before the change applies.
